Commercial Ventilation

Published by Steven Weiland

Ventilation is essential to any commercial facility. It keeps air flowing properly throughout the building, ensuring all workers, clients or customers are comfortable inside. Here are three things you should be aware of when it comes to your commercial facility’s ventilation system:

  1.  Small Leaks = Big Bills – The tiniest air leak can compromise the efficiency of your entire HVAC system. A lot of energy is required in order to heat and cool a larger commercial building, so don’t waste a drop! Leaks cause air pressure inside the ventilation system to drop, making your system work harder. You will start to notice an increase in your monthly energy bill.
  2. Damaged Ducts = Low IAQ – You want your facility to have quality air, right? Large commercial buildings have heavy sealing to maintain heating and cooling efficiency, so the air circulating is not as fresh. Contaminated air enters damaged ductwork and is released into the workspace, requiring a system replacement.
  3. System Repair/Replacement = Work for Professionals – Commercial ventilation is quite complicated, more so than that of residential systems. If you need a repair or replacement, leave the work to skilled HVAC specialists; they have the tools and training necessary to get the job done well, keeping you, your employees and your customers comfortable.
