How to Hire an HVAC Company

Published by Steven Weiland

You may need the service of an HVAC company in a variety of situations: you may be building a new home or commercial facility, need to repair an element in your system, or need a new unit altogether. Whatever the reason, you want to make sure you hire the right company and follow the correct procedure.

REPUTATION

What do previous customers of the company have to say about their experiences? Check out reviews and testimonials to get a good idea of what you can expect. The contractor you choose must also be licensed, bonded and insured. This means the business and its employees meet the standards and have the experience needed to get the job you need done properly.

ESTIMATES

Collect estimates from a variety of companies and compare prices. Don’t automatically choose the cheapest option; this can sometimes mean lower quality services and products.

CONTRACT

Never allow a contractor to perform any work until you have both signed a written agreement. This contract should include the work expected to be done, the amount of time the work is expected to take, how much it will cost, and what will happen in the event that something goes wrong. Any other details you wish to include can be added upon your request.

PAYMENTS

Generally, payment is due upon completion of the work. If the work is more extensive and has a larger cost, payments may be broken down to be paid over time. If this is the case, make sure both you and the technician are in agreement as to when these payments are due and how much should be paid. You don’t want any questions to remain before the actual work begins.

If you are in need of an experienced HVAC specialist in Chicago, contact Heatmasters today. We will ensure the work you need is done quickly and efficiently, and that you fully understand the entire process.
